ikea docksta table...

How I wish I could think of a space in my house that would work for the
$199 - 41" round
It's a sturdy, inexpensive knock off of the mid-century modern tulip table
by Euro Sarrinen, that gained popularity in the 1960's.

It's perfect for a smaller kitchen nook, and often shown with banquettes.
It effortlessly mixes with a multitude of chair styles.
This diy with the base painted gold is stunning!

How cool is this diy with chalkboard paint? It would be awesome in a playroom!

thanksgiving table and my dad...

So, we've had a change in plans for Thanksgiving this year, we usually host
about 12 -15, but my brother asked if I cared if they hosted this year.
Umm....no, that would be perfectly fine! :)
This is the best...my mom relayed to me what my sweet dad said...
"Well, what will Pam do, she needs to show the Thanksgiving table on her blog."
Too cute, huh?

I was looking forward to sharing my Thanksgiving table in fresh bright hues of
orange and green with crisp white linens and serving pieces.
Here's a peek at what would have been...

The plan was to show you how with a few simple changes I used the same pieces for
our Thanksgiving table as I did for this fancy girlfriend birthday party.

Same runner, same green geometric napkins, same white serving pieces.
You can check out the pretty party here.

I changed out roses for Pyracantha (shrub with orange berries) in my
old silver urn style trophy, added a few orange books and a small silver bowl
with fuschia mums from my yard.

davesgarden.com

Every fall I'm reminded I'd love to plant one of these Pyracantha shrubs in our yard
 (mine came from a neighbor).
In my eyes, those vibrant orange berries far outweigh the multitude of sharp thorns.
I've read they are fast growers, as much as two feet per year, and the best time to plant
is fall. It's on my to-do list! Maybe next year my Thanksgiving table will be a repeat.

One week from today, Thanksgiving dinner, I can't wait!!

13th annual christmas party invites...

Today I delivered the invitations to my 13th Annual Christmas Party, it's long been one
of my favorite traditions, ringing in the month of December with ten special girlfriends.
We get dressed up, hug, chat, have cocktails, chat, eat, chat, drink, chat, eat more,
chat, exchange gifts, chat, after dinner drinks, chat, hug... :)

Details on the back...

Each year I come up with a different theme, last year's was...
A few of my Favorite Things
It was a hit, and everyone loved getting 'five' favorite gifts to take home rather
than the usual one. I tried to come up with something clever to incorporate the
five gifts again, but time was getting away from me, and this simple idea won out...

a few MORE of my favorite things

I used these 7" x 3" wood slats from Hobby Lobby
6 per package - $1.50 (with coupon)
Painted them with chalkboard paint, and wrote my invite with a chalk marker.
Use a hot glue gun to attach a bow and sprig of evergreen to the front.

If you missed last year's party you can check out the fun invitations,
the way it works, and the clever gifts these creative girls came up with here and here.

These girls are crazy creative and raise the bar higher every year!
But, we're always soliciting ideas....what would you bring?
5 items (all the same) for $5 or less

Menu and more details to come...

faux taxidermy trend...i'm in

I fell victim to the faux taxidermy trend!
I think it can look chic, stylish and at the same time be the perfect bit of quirk.

pearlsandcowboyboots.com

The size and detail of these guys I found at Homegoods was perfect, but the color wasn't quite
what I wanted, so I gave them a makeover with white, gold and silver paint. I planned to
use them for the holidays and in my Bedroom Reveal for Spring and Summer.

A change of plans in the bedroom, Mr. Simple is so indecisive when it comes to his
own home, he just couldn't decide where he liked them best! :)

Maybe these ideas would have helped...

Is this chic or what?
